At Studio 55 Dance, we are proud to be a family-friendly dance studio providing quality dance education to Rockford and the surrounding communities. We believe that the best learning happens when students are having fun. That's why we create a positive, encouraging, and non-competitive environment where dancers can build strong technical skills while developing a lifelong love of dance.
Our classes focus on proper technique, terminology, and age-appropriate instruction, but dance is about so much more than learning steps. Our mission is to help every student grow in confidence, build self-esteem, develop teamwork and discipline, and create friendships that last a lifetime. Our dedicated instructors are passionate about helping each dancer reach their full potential while feeling supported, challenged, and inspired every step of the way.
The Elite Company is designed for dedicated dancers ages 4 and older who are ready to take their training to the next level and commit to a competitive team environment. Dancers on the Elite Company will attend class for a minimum of 2 days per week and will receive advanced instruction across multiple styles of dance. With consistent training, they continue to strengthen their technical abilities while developing confidence, endurance, discipline, and valuable teamwork skills.
As members of the Elite Company, dancers have the opportunity to perform throughout the season at various conventions, competitions, and community events, gaining valuable performance experience while representing Studio 55 Dance.
Elite Company members may also be selected to participate in additional opportunities, including solos, duets, trios, small groups, hip hop, acro, pre-pointe, pointe, and our Assistant Teacher Program. Placement in these opportunities is determined through the audition process and is based on each dancer's readiness, commitment, and individual strengths.

Elite Company Intensive 2026
The Elite Company Intensive is designed for the serious dancer who is ready to make a commitment to a competitive team and accept new challenges. Dancers will be given the opportunity to improve on individual skills as well as focus on correct terminology and self-discipline in preparation for the audition. Auditions will be held on July 30th to evaluate students for proper team placement.
All dancers interested in auditioning for the 2026-2027 Elite Company must be registered for a minimum of 4 individual Technique Collective classes.
Attire: black leotard, pink stirrup or convertible tights, with hair pulled back neatly into a bun. Please bring all necessary shoes to auditions; lyrical, tap and jazz.
